House of the Rising Sun

Overview

Onto a classic of American folk music; here is the great, House of the Rising Sun. A harrowing melody in which a woman, deceived into leaving home only to become a whore in New Orleans, warns her parents, siblings, and children of succumbing to the same fate. Renditions of the song have been famously recorded by the likes of Lead Belly, Josh White, as well as the Animals, and it's endured as a classic, particularly among guitar players, ever since.

Fret the notes by placing your fingertip as close behind the fret as possible (though you can be slightly further behind if your hand stretch is limited)

Maintain proper finger-to-fret assignment (1st fret for the 1st finger, 2nd fret for the 2nd finger, and so on)

Use your fingertips rather than fingerpads
